Adobe Illustrator

This is a magazine ad I made for a Wildlife Charity Event. I made it through Adobe Illustrator by using the paint brush to make the hearts and adding the animal print pattern to them. I also created a gradient for the background with the nature color swatches. So far I am enjoying Illustrator more than Photoshop.

Adobe Illustrator.

We have began to use Adobe Illustrator this week. So far I love it! We brought in different shapes and filled them in with all different colors. Then I brought in these twitter birds and placed them with the shapes to make a cute layout. I then grouped them all together so they will move as a group!

I think I'm going to have a lot of fun using Adobe Iluustrator, and I can't wait to learn more!

pen tool and patterns.

This is the dress I made by using the pen tool in Adobe Photoshop. I connected all the anchors while drawing the dress and then I filled it with a pattern of daffodils. I think this is a really cool tool to be able to use and I can't wait to use it more!

Selecting.

So this week in class, we made post cards to places we would like to go. I made one for Paris, France. I selected objects out of the pictures that represented fun, food, a landmark, and clothing. The fun is moped riding, the food is macaroons, the clothing is a Chanel purse, and of course the landmark is the Eiffel Tower!

I used the quick selection tool for most of the images, but I did have to use the lasso tool on the moped, it helped me get the smaller parts of the moped like the mirrors. I think it's really cool to be able to select things from photographs and make your own creation (like a postcard) with them. I will definitely use this if I ever want to make some cool and unique invitations!

how to change colors in photos.

Edited New:
Original:

This week in class, I learned a lot to do with photoshop. But my favorite thing had to be how to change the color of something in your photograph. As you see above, Ariel's hair is originally red. I thought it would be cool to make her hair purple/pink. And so that's what I did!

I used the Quick Selection tool to select her hair then I went to Image->Adjustments->Replace Color
When you get to replace color, you select what color you want to change, in the selcted area. Then you go and choose the color you want to change it to! And there you go, that is how you can change the color of something in your photograph!

Various Photo Compositions.

This photo of the kitten represents simplicity in a picture. There is nothing else taking your attention away from the subject of the photo, which is the kitten (this photo is also a good example of centering). I saved the photo as JPEG so it is lossy. Since it is lossy the image quality is thrown out.

This photo is a wonderful example of framing. The photographer uses the cave to fram the beautiful ocean scenery. I once again saved this picture as a JPEG, so it has lost a lot of it's quality, unfortunatley. So once again this image is lossy.

This photograph is an example of leading lines in photo composition. As you can see, the road leads your eyes in curves throughout the picture until you reach the end, which seems to go on and on. Since a mojority of the photos online are saved as JPEG, and therefore lossy they all lose their image quality. This photo is also a lossy photo. I wish I could find a lossless photo, which only throws away a little bit of the photos quality, which makes the picture so much better.
